ArtistEarth is a travel and culture guide created for artists, sketchers, and creative explorers. We believe the world looks different through an artist’s eyes — and that every city, street, museum, and landscape holds a story waiting to be drawn.
Our mission is simple: to help you see the world creatively.
ArtistEarth brings together travel destinations, art history, sketching tips, and real artwork from creators around the globe. Whether you’re planning your next sketching trip or simply looking for inspiration, this is your guide to exploring place through curiosity, observation, and the joy of making art.
A Home for Traveling Artists
Most travel sites are built for tourists. Most art sites are built for collectors. ArtistEarth is built for makers.
Here you’ll find:
- Great places to sketch in cities around the world
- Artist‑friendly travel tips for airports, trains, and on‑the‑go creativity
- Portable gear guides and minimalist setups
- Art history tied to geography — from artist birthplaces to iconic landscapes
- Sketches and travel art from the Sketchbooks.org community
Our goal is to help you explore the world with a pencil in hand — noticing light, texture, architecture, color, and atmosphere in every place you visit.
Powered by a Global Creative Community
ArtistEarth is part of a growing ecosystem of artist‑focused sites.
Our partner site, Sketchbooks.org, is a membership gallery and creative community where artists share their work, use drawing tools, and connect with others. It also hosts a growing library of over 125 sketching‑inspiration articles that support daily creativity and artistic practice.
ArtistEarth highlights travel‑inspired sketches and stories from Sketchbooks.org members, bringing real artist experiences into our destination guides and creative features. These shared sketches help ground each article in lived experience — real places, real moments, real artists.
Together, the two sites form a natural loop:
- ArtistEarth inspires your next creative journey
- Sketchbooks.org becomes the place you share what you create
It’s a simple, supportive ecosystem designed to help artists stay inspired wherever they are.

Why ArtistEarth Exists
This project began with a simple idea: Artists travel differently.
We notice the way light falls across unfamiliar streets. We look for quiet corners to draw. We wander museums slowly. We pause in landscapes that spark ideas. We sketch to understand a place — not just to visit it.
ArtistEarth was created to support that way of seeing, offering a space where creativity and travel meet.
Where We’re Going
ArtistEarth is growing. In the coming months, we’ll be adding:
- City‑by‑city sketching maps
- Artist travel tools
- Regional guides
- More stories from traveling artists
- Expanded galleries featuring Sketchbooks.org members
This is just the beginning. As the site grows, it will become a rich archive of places, tools, and creative insights for artists who explore the world through drawing.

If you’re an artist who travels — or a traveler who sketches — we’d love to hear from you.

Share your work, your stories, or your favorite sketching spots. You can reach us anytime through the contact page or by joining the Sketchbooks.org community to share your art.
Wherever you go, take your sketchbook — and let ArtistEarth help guide the way.
