The Colosseum (Italy): The largest ancient amphitheater ever built, the Colosseum is the symbol of Rome’s imperial power and a primary stop for any "Grand Tour."

Todays Challenge: "The Arcaded Wall." Sketch a curved wall with three levels of arches. Make the bottom arches look "heavy" and the top ones lighter and more delicate.

Travel Trivia: The Colosseum originally had a retractable "awning" (the Velarium) that could be pulled over the top to protect spectators from the sun.
