Sketch

The Paris Metro (France): Art Nouveau designer Hector Guimard turned the subway entrance into a piece of "traveler’s art," using organic, plant-like shapes for an industrial city.

Todays Challenge: "The Iron Vine." Sketch a doorway, but instead of straight lines, use "whiplash" curves that look like vines wrapping around the frame.

Travel Trivia: Guimard’s metro entrances were originally criticized for being "too green" and looking like giant insects.
